The Rock Castle estate features a Queen Anne Cottage with five bays, one and a half stories, clipped gable ends, and two interior end chimneys.
Charles Fleming received the patent for Rock Castle in 1718, and his son Tarleton Fleming constructed the manor house during the 1730s.
The property stands as an exemplary representation of traditional 18th-century Virginia architecture, with full paneling and a Georgian staircase on the first floor.
Rock Castle is registered as a historic landmark under reference number 70000798 and can be viewed from public roads in Goochland County.
In 1935, the entire structure was relocated several hundred feet from its original position while maintaining its architectural authenticity.
