Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian church in Fishersville, United States
Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church is a Greek Revival stone building in Fishersville featuring a Doric columned entrance. This structure represents the third church building constructed by the congregation in Augusta County.
The congregation was founded in 1740 and became the first Presbyterian group in the Virginia Valley. The current stone building replaced earlier wooden structures when it was erected in 1850.
The church maintains regular Sunday worship services and educational programs for all age groups, from children to adults, fostering spiritual development.
The building sits south of the VA 636 and VA 631 intersection at 30 Tinkling Spring Drive. The congregation welcomes visitors to services and events held throughout the year.
An architecture dean at the University of Virginia designed the building in 1850 and served as pastor from 1852 to 1857. This dual role of architectural and spiritual leadership was uncommon for the era.
