Sadlers Creek State Park

Sadlers Creek State Park spans 395 acres of wooded terrain on a peninsula with a 100-foot fishing pier extending into Lake Hartwell. The grounds include two boat ramps, a network of hiking trails, and various camping facilities designed for different visitor preferences.

The park developed as a recreational destination after Lake Hartwell was created in the 1950s through a major dam project. The transformation of the area followed regional needs for flood control and outdoor recreation.

The lakeside pavilion serves as a gathering place where locals host family celebrations and community events throughout the year. It reflects how this area has become central to outdoor social life in the region.

The park offers 51 standard campsites accommodating RVs and tents plus 14 tent-only sites with varying comfort levels. Two boat ramps provide straightforward access to the lake for visitors bringing their own watercraft or fishing equipment.

The park is home to fox squirrels that display distinctive jumping movements through the trees along the trails. These large tree-dwelling rodents are commonly spotted by visitors exploring the wooded terrain.
