Lake Hartwell State Park

Lake Hartwell State Park extends along the shores of a 56,000-acre reservoir, featuring two boat ramps and a 140-foot fishing pier for water activities.

The park began operations in 1976 as part of South Carolina's initiative to provide recreational access to the Hartwell Dam reservoir on the Savannah River.

Local fishing traditions focus on catching striped bass, hybrid bass, largemouth bass, crappie, bream, and catfish in the lake's abundant waters.

The park maintains 109 paved camping sites with water and electrical connections for RVs up to 40 feet, plus 13 dedicated tent areas with pads.

A 0.75-mile nature trail follows the lake's edge, connecting visitors to both the water and the surrounding natural environment throughout the seasons.
