Memorial Stadium, Clemson, Football stadium in Clemson, South Carolina, US.
Memorial Stadium is a football arena in Clemson, South Carolina, that serves as home to the Clemson Tigers and holds more than 81,500 spectators. The playing surface rests in a valley surrounded by seating sections, and the WestZone provides training rooms and support spaces for the team.
The facility opened in 1942 as a memorial for university graduates who had died during military duty. Despite protests from coach Jess Neely, who soon left the program, construction went ahead and the site was completed that year.
The team runs down the eastern hill toward the field after touching Howard's Rock, which sits on a pedestal near the entrance. The band plays Tiger Rag during this moment, and cannons fire as the crowd responds from the seats around the valley.
The complex includes several zones for special guests, such as the Masters Club and the Bob Bradley Press Box. The Nieri Enrichment Center also offers support services for student-athletes across the grounds.
The playing surface received the name Frank Howard Field in 1974 and sits in a valley next to an old university cemetery. This placement beside the burial ground contributed to the Death Valley nickname that persists today.

This collection gathers the largest stadiums on the planet, ranked by seating capacity. From the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, India, which hosts major cricket matches, to the vast American university arenas dedicated to football, and the May Day Stadium in Pyongyang, North Korea, these sports facilities demonstrate the scale that infrastructures for competitions and mass gatherings can reach. Each stadium has its own identity: some are exclusively dedicated to a specific sport, while others serve as flexible venues capable of hosting various events. Their sizes enable them to accommodate between 100,000 and over 150,000 spectators, providing organizers the opportunity to gather large crowds for international competitions, national finals, or major ceremonies.
