Hanover House, Historic house in Clemson, South Carolina.
The Hanover House exhibits French colonial architectural elements with its steep-pitched roof, thick brick walls, and symmetrical window placement across two stories.
Built in 1716 and relocated to Clemson University in 1941, this house represents one of the earliest surviving wooden structures in South Carolina.
The interior features period-appropriate furnishings and displays traditional French colonial domestic life patterns of the early 18th century South Carolina.
Visitors can access guided tours of Hanover House through the South Carolina Botanical Garden at Clemson University throughout the year.
The building materials include cypress wood and handmade brick, with original French architectural markings still visible on numerous wooden beams.
