Crittenden Farm

The Crittenden Farm encompasses 665 acres of agricultural land featuring a wooden farmhouse built in Renaissance Revival and Italianate architectural styles.

Established in 1882 by Alvin Crittenden, the farm developed into a center for sheep breeding, with animals shipped across the United States and to South Africa.

The property contains eighteen buildings and structures that demonstrate late nineteenth-century agricultural development and architectural design in northern Ohio.

The farm maintains its original structures, including fourteen buildings, a family cemetery, and a section of virgin forest in Ashland County.

The farmhouse preserves numerous original components from the 1880s, making it a notable example of nineteenth-century agricultural architecture in northern Ohio.
