BibleWalk, Religious wax museum in Mansfield, US
BibleWalk is a wax museum in Mansfield that displays over 300 life-size figures arranged in 78 scenes depicting stories from the Bible. The exhibition combines detailed displays with audio narration to bring different biblical stories to life.
The museum was founded in 1987 and began with 16 scenes after Pastor Richard Diamond and his wife Alwilda were inspired by a religious exhibition in Atlanta. Over time, the collection grew to its current size with extensive scenic displays.
The five exhibition sections present different biblical themes: the life of Jesus, Old Testament miracles, Christian martyrs, the Reformation, and the story of grace. Each section reflects important moments in Christian tradition that visitors can experience directly.
The museum offers free parking on-site and regular guided tours through the different sections. Special events with dinner and theater are held from April through June and should be planned in advance.
Several wax figures in the biblical scenes come from closed celebrity museums and were repurposed, with some originally representing famous actors. This recycling practice reveals the creative history behind the collection.
