Central Square Theater features a 200-seat black box main stage and a 50-seat studio theater at 450 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge.
The theater emerged from a 1990s MIT renovation project of Massachusetts Avenue buildings, leading to its establishment and opening in 2008.
Two theater companies, Underground Railway Theater and Nora Theatre Company, operate independently while sharing the venue to produce over 200 performances annually.
The theater provides accessible facilities including removable seats, an elevator, and designated parking spots to accommodate all visitors.
The Women in Science Circle program combines theatrical storytelling with scientific education to highlight female contributions in scientific fields.
