Fountain County Courthouse

The Fountain County Courthouse is an Art Deco building constructed from limestone located in Covington. A large wired-glass skylight positioned at the center of the roof brings natural light into the interior and defines much of the structure's character.

The building was constructed in 1937 as part of a public works program and replaced several older courthouses from the early 1800s. The new structure reflected a national trend of modernizing county seats with contemporary designs.

Murals by Eugene Savage cover the courthouse walls, illustrating how Fountain County developed through different time periods. These artworks give visitors a visual story of the region's growth and community identity.

The courthouse sits downtown and is easy to reach on foot from the main streets. Visitors should check ahead about access to the building since some areas may be restricted during business hours.
