Kanbula Park is a national forest park covering 152 square kilometers with distinctive red sandstone cliffs and mountain ranges. The landscape sits between 2,100 and 4,000 meters elevation and is intersected by the Lijiaxia Reservoir.
The park served as a key location for Tibetan Buddhism, with Nanzongzha Temple constructed over 1,000 years ago. This and other monastery complexes shaped the spiritual history of the region.
