Munich Forest Cemetery, Woodland cemetery in Munich, Germany.

The Munich Waldfriedhof extends across an area containing 59,000 graves integrated within a forest setting of native trees and vegetation.

Architect Hans Grässel established this cemetery in 1907, introducing a design that merged burial spaces with natural landscapes in German cemetery architecture.

The cemetery includes sections for war memorials, Italian military graves, and the final resting places of Nobel Prize winners Werner Heisenberg and Paul Heyse.

The cemetery gates open at 8:00 AM daily, with closing times varying from 5:00 PM in winter to 8:00 PM during summer months.

Different sections within the cemetery, known as Alter Teil and Neuer Teil, showcase the evolution of burial practices through distinct architectural approaches.
