Babelsberg Park, UNESCO Heritage park in Potsdam, Germany

The 114-hectare park stretches along the Havel River banks, featuring ornate garden terraces, fountains, and artificial lakes near Babelsberg Palace.

Crown Prince William and Princess Augusta commissioned the park in 1833, with designs by landscape architects Peter Joseph Lenné and Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau.

The garden layout incorporates monuments commemorating William's military achievements as a Prussian prince, including a victory column at the highest point.

Visitors can reach the park through public transportation stops at Potsdam Schloss Babelsberg or Alt Nowawes, with daily access from 8 AM until sunset.

The park contains an artificial water system with lakes, waterfalls, and streams, designed to irrigate vegetation across the sloping terrain.
