Bökelbergstadion, Former football stadium in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
Bökelbergstadion was a football stadium in Mönchengladbach with four separate stands and capacity for around 34,500 spectators. The venue featured a traditional arena layout where the club played its home matches for many decades.
The stadium was built in 1919 and served as home to Borussia Mönchengladbach for over 80 years. The club left the grounds in 2004 for a modern sports facility, and the stadium was demolished shortly after.
The name honored a local football official and was formally adopted following a major success for the club. Supporters connect the venue with decades of intense backing and passionate moments witnessed there.
The former stadium no longer exists, as it was completely demolished in 2006. A residential development now occupies the site, making an on-site visit impossible.
Parts of the original structure, including sections from the north and south curves, were incorporated into the new residential development. These remnants stand as reminders of the venue's history and mark a thoughtful transformation of the site.
