Bismarckgrotte bei Rinnenbrunn, Natural karst cave in Hirschbach, Germany.

Bismarckgrotte bei Rinnenbrunn is a cave system carved through dolomite rock with interconnected passages and chamber spaces that stretch over 1200 meters and descend to depths of 52 meters. The interior displays natural spiral-shaped features in certain sections and mineral deposits accumulated within the larger cavities.

The cave was discovered by forestry workers in 1890 and named the following year. Archaeological work in the 1960s uncovered prehistoric remains that point to human activity in the region during ancient times.

The cave took its name from a forester who documented it in the late 1800s and it remains a meaningful landmark in local knowledge about the region's geology. Visitors recognize it as a place where nature and human curiosity intersect over generations.

Access is restricted from October to April for bat conservation during hibernation season. Visitors should bring sturdy footwear and light sources since passages are narrow and some sections are steep.

The southern entrance known as the Corkscrew features an unusual spiral descent that leads to sediment-filled halls and mineral formations. This distinctive entry point makes the location memorable for those exploring cave systems.
