St. Konrad

St. Konrad Church features exposed concrete walls, a bell tower, and an interior space accommodating 600 seats within its contemporary architectural design.

The current church building, completed in 1969, replaced an earlier 1934 structure to serve the growing Catholic population in North Speyer.

The church interior includes a monumental concrete sculpture by Professor Jakob Adlhart, combining religious and everyday symbols behind the altar area.

The religious complex includes a parish center, community hall, rectory, kindergarten, youth center, and former convent house for various community activities.

The construction utilizes a prestressed concrete ceiling that reaches 16 meters in height above the altar area, demonstrating innovative engineering techniques.
