Deutsches Zeitungsmuseum

The exhibition space spans 500 square meters within a former economic building of the Abbey of Wadgassen, presenting the history of newspaper production.

The museum opened in 2004 and contains 4,000 artifacts documenting press history, including newspapers, magazines, and printing equipment from the 17th century onwards.

The permanent exhibition demonstrates the importance of press freedom for democracy through historical newspapers, photographs, and political cartoons from different periods.

The museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 16:00, with complete access for wheelchair users throughout the exhibition areas.

Visitors can operate historical printing machines to create their own newspaper pages using traditional methods from different time periods.
