Sankt Johanniskloster, Gothic monastery church in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany
The brick-built Sankt Johanniskloster features high Gothic architecture with lancet windows and detailed stone decorations throughout its structure.
The Franciscan monastery began construction around 1237 in Brandenburg's old town, with the initial single-nave early Gothic church completed by 1250.
The monastery church contains preserved paintings from the mid-15th century within its choir section, representing medieval religious art.
Following restoration for the 2015 Federal Garden Show, the church received a glass wall closure on its western facade while maintaining its interior state.
The north wall displays a rare rosette window made entirely of brick masonry, demonstrating exceptional medieval craftsmanship.
