IBZ Berlin

IBZ Berlin is a residential complex with 78 apartments ranging from about 36 to 117 square meters (390 to 1,260 square feet). The units feature bright, open floor plans with multiple room arrangements suited to different living needs.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation initiated the concept for international meeting centers in the 1950s, drawing inspiration from American residential models. The building itself was constructed in 1983 following a design by Otto Steidle.

Residents from around the world gather regularly for lectures, concerts, and seminars that bring together international and German researchers. These events help create connections and shared experiences among people from different academic backgrounds.

The complex provides residents with a fitness facility, billiard room, library, and large event hall for gatherings. Multiple garden areas are easily accessible via public transportation connections nearby.

The garden design was created by Peter Latz and features three distinct sections, each with its own character and purpose. These varied garden areas provide residents with different outdoor spaces for relaxation and activities.
