Ekkodalen

The Ekkodalen valley extends for 12 kilometers through the Danish island of Bornholm, with rock walls reaching 20 meters in height along its 60-meter width.

The geological formation emerged from underground tensions that caused the bedrock to crack, followed by extensive weathering and erosion through ice and water forces.

A memorial stone was placed in 1898 within the valley to commemorate Peter Christian Tranberg, who established a local congregation before moving to Minneapolis.

Multiple parking areas near Ekkodalshuset provide access to marked walking trails throughout the valley, with restroom facilities available for visitors.

The best location to experience sound reflections is at H.C. Ørsteds Kilde, where voices bounce off the rock walls creating distinct echoes.
