Thy National Park

The park stretches 55 kilometers along the northwestern coast of Jutland, featuring dunes, heathlands, wetlands, forests, and lakes across 244 square kilometers.

The area contains numerous archaeological sites from the Stone Age, including dolmens, burial mounds, and evidence of organized flint production by early settlers.

Local fishing communities of Hanstholm and Stenbjerg maintain traditional maritime practices while Klitmøller has developed into a center for water sports.

Visitors can explore the park through an extensive network of hiking and cycling paths, including the 93-kilometer West Coast Trail connecting multiple attractions.

The sandy dune heaths represent a rare European habitat where red deer, white-tailed eagles, and cranes find shelter among the protected ecosystems.
