Hammeren Lighthouse, Stone lighthouse at Hammerknuden peninsula in Bornholm, Denmark
Hammeren Lighthouse is a stone structure on the Hammerknuden peninsula featuring a cylindrical granite tower with a greenish lantern dome. The tower rises about 21 meters and marks one of the highest points in this coastal area.
An original lighthouse facility at this location was built in the early 1800s but was later replaced by the current structure. The present building served as an active navigational aid for over a century.
The lighthouse and surrounding buildings have long shaped maritime identity on Bornholm Island. Today these structures tell the story of the region's seafaring heritage and navigation importance.
Access is via a paved path that runs from a parking area and takes several hundred meters to walk. The best time to visit is outside winter months, when the tower is open to visitors.
From the viewing platform, visitors can see both the Swedish mainland and medieval castle ruins across the Baltic Sea on clear days. This dual view connects two historically important landmarks in one location.
