Tower of Arroyomolinos

The Tower of Arroyomolinos is a five-story brick structure with rounded corners and eight watchtowers positioned around a square stone base. The building displays the heavy, fortified form typical of medieval defensive structures from this region.

The structure was built during the 1470s as a strategic fortification amid the Castilian Succession War. It belonged to the Chacón family, whose shields were displayed on the upper sections as markers of ownership.

The structure reflects architectural styles that blended Gothic and Islamic influences, common to medieval Castile at the time of its construction. These design choices remain visible in the details and proportions visitors see today.

The tower is located in the historic town center near Plaza Mayor and can be reached through the main entrance on its north side. Visitors should be prepared to climb stairs to access and explore the different levels within.

Cannonball impacts are visible on the surface from past military attacks, leaving permanent marks on the brick and stone. These scars testify to the structure's durability despite being made from basic materials.
