Punta d'Astorg, Mountain summit in Benasque, Spain.
The granite peak of Punta d'Astorg rises to 3,355 meters as part of the Maladeta massif in the Spanish Pyrenees mountain range.
Count René d'Astorg, Henri Brulle, and two guides completed the first recorded ascent of the mountain on July 9, 1901, leading to its current name.
The summit forms part of the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park, where mountaineers gather throughout the year to practice alpine climbing techniques.
Climbers access the peak from Rencluse refuge, requiring technical equipment and experience to navigate the rocky terrain and glacial conditions.
The mountain features a distinctive two-meter granite monolith at its summit and ranks as the second highest peak in the Maladeta massif.
