Charco Azul, Natural pool in San Andrés y Sauces, Spain.

Charco Azul consists of two spacious rock pools linked to the Atlantic Ocean and sheltered from strong waves by volcanic stone formations. The facility includes a separate children's pool with safety railings and steps, along with changing rooms, showers, sun loungers, and parking.

The rock pools formed naturally through geological processes but became visitor-accessible only after major renovations in the early 2000s. This development brought international attention to the site as an important recreation destination.

The pools serve as a traditional gathering place where local families have spent generations swimming and maintaining customs tied to the sea. This long-standing use has made the spot meaningful for the community.

The pools are well-equipped and suitable for all ages, with plenty of comfort and amenities on site. Visiting in the morning or during quieter seasons helps avoid crowds and allows for a more relaxed experience.

The pools border an ancient laurel forest, a rare combination of prehistoric plant life alongside ocean recreation. This botanical proximity offers an unexpected contrast between swimming and forest landscape.
