Benitandús

Benitandús is a mountain village in Alcúdia de Veo situated on the banks of the Veo River near the Onda reservoir. Distinctive geological formations called Los Órganos rise from the mountainside, creating a striking landscape feature.

The area contains defensive structures and trenches remaining from the Spanish Civil War, indicating this mountain location held strategic importance during the conflict. These remains reflect how the steep terrain was used for military purposes at that time.

Residents practice farming methods passed down over generations, which have shaped the terraced hillsides around the settlement. This way of life remains connected to the steep terrain and to the seasonal rhythms of the mountain.
