Puijo tower

Puijo tower is a 75-meter observation structure standing on elevated ground in Kuopio, reaching roughly 300 meters above sea level. The building contains multiple levels featuring an observation deck, a café, and a rotating restaurant.

Earlier towers occupied this site in the late 1800s, but the current structure was completed in 1963. This building was among the first of its kind in the Nordic region and influenced how similar structures were built elsewhere.

The tower represents the city's connection to its natural surroundings and serves as a gathering place for both locals and travelers. People come here to experience how the landscape shapes daily life in this region.

The structure is easily accessible via two elevators serving the various levels. Clear weather provides the best views, and visitors should expect wind at the higher levels.

The building houses a television broadcasting station in its lower sections while visitors dine and observe above. This combination of functions in one structure is uncommon in the region.
