Château de Trangis, 18th century château in Évreux, France

Château de Trangis is an 18th-century castle on the outskirts of Évreux, surrounded by roughly 10 hectares of parkland featuring wooded areas and open green spaces. The structure itself sits on foundations from an earlier 17th-century building, with architecture that reflects changes made over time.

The building was constructed before 1750 on the foundations of a 17th-century structure and soon came under the ownership of Duke Godefroy de La Tour d'Auvergne of Bouillon. In the 1800s, the Goldschmidt banking family acquired it and maintained the property for over a century until the city purchased it in 1981.

The Goldschmidt family, prominent European bankers, shaped the property through their ownership and refined tastes from the mid-1800s onward. Their presence left a mark on how the place was maintained and how people came to view it as part of the region's cultural landscape.

The château provides space for various events with conference rooms and performance halls available for public and private functions. Visitors should note that the grounds are used for both formal occasions and recreational activities, so access conditions and timing may vary depending on programming.

The property gained recognition for its commitment to ecological management practices and features an adventure course called Arbr'En Ciel within its grounds. This combination shows how the historical site blends heritage preservation with contemporary recreational offerings.
