Tour INSEE

The INSEE Tower is a 48-meter-tall office building with thirteen floors, built on a tripod structure with a curved facade and aluminum window frames. This geometric design creates a distinctive silhouette visible across the surrounding area.

Built in 1974 by architects Denis Honegger and Serge Lana, the building housed the French statistics agency until 2018 when operations relocated. It served as an important workplace for decades during the rise of computer-based data analysis.

The tower reflects 1970s design thinking with its focus on practical workspaces built to last and serve many people over time.

The building is located in Malakoff, a suburb west of Paris, and is accessible by public transport. Note that the structure is not open to the public, as it functions as a private office building that is not available for tours.

The building's prow-shaped gables contain a central split that channels daylight into the interior stairwell, an unusual solution for brightening the core of the structure.
