Darul Barakaat Mosque

The Darul Barakaat Mosque is a place of worship for the Ahmadiyya community in the Bordesley area, featuring a prominent dome and minaret on its roof. Inside, two separate prayer halls provide space for worshippers, with capacity for around 2000 people at the same time.

The building was constructed in 2004 on a site that previously held a girls' school from the 1800s. The Ahmadiyya community purchased the abandoned property and transformed it into this modern house of worship.

The mosque serves the local Ahmadiyya community as a central gathering place for prayer and religious learning. You will see worshippers from different backgrounds coming together and participating in programs that teach Islamic traditions and values.

The mosque is located on Tilton Road and has separate prayer areas designed for different needs. Visitors should remove their shoes before entering and respect the modest dress code of the space.

The mosque was the first in Birmingham to broadcast its prayers live on international television. This made it a pioneer in using modern media to share religious services with a wider audience.
