Healy Park, Gaelic Athletic Association stadium in Omagh, Northern Ireland
Healy Park is a sports stadium in Omagh with a main seated stand holding around 5,000 spectators and additional terrace areas that bring total capacity to approximately 18,500. The venue sits along Gortin Road with modern floodlighting and is within easy walking distance of town center.
The site came about in 1962 when the Omagh St. Enda's Club acquired land for a new sports venue, with the grounds opening officially in 1972. Years later, floodlighting systems were added, enabling evening matches and events.
The stadium is home to County Tyrone's Gaelic football and hurling teams, drawing crowds of local supporters who gather throughout the season to watch their sides compete. These sports and their traditions shape much of the community's identity and calendar.
The ground is conveniently close to the town center and easily reached on foot. The modern floodlighting allows events to be held during evening hours, so checking match schedules in advance helps with visit planning.
In 2006, this ground became the first Gaelic football stadium in Ulster to install floodlights, a milestone that transformed how and when matches could be held. The innovation opened possibilities for evening competitions that were not previously available in the region.
