Cadbury Castle, Bronze Age hillfort in Somerset, England

The archaeological site covers 8 hectares of land with four substantial ramparts and ditches positioned around a central elevated plateau at 153 meters elevation.

Excavations between 1966 and 1973 revealed continuous human occupation from the Neolithic period through the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and into post-Roman times.

John Leland's sixteenth-century writings connected this location to Arthurian legends, identifying it as a potential site of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table.

The site maintains three separate entrances at the north-east, east, and south-west points, allowing visitors to explore different sections of the ancient fortification.

Archaeological findings uncovered a land bridge called King Arthur's Hunting Track that extends from this location to the neighboring Glastonbury Tor.
