Bickleigh Castle, Norman fortified manor house in Bickleigh, Devon, England
Several historic buildings form the castle complex on the banks of the River Exe, including a gatehouse, chapel, and Norman curtain wall.
The castle's foundations date to 600 AD, with major reconstructions by the Courtenay family in the 15th century and damage during the Civil War.
Queen Henrietta Maria, wife of Charles I, stayed at the castle in 1644 before giving birth to Princess Henrietta Anne Stuart.
The castle functions as a wedding venue with 18 bedrooms and suites, accommodating up to 40 overnight guests and 120 people in the Great Hall.
The property contains a Saxon chapel from 600 AD and underground passages that connect different structures within the castle grounds.
