The Church of St Michael features a three-stage tower, symmetrical porches on both sides, and grand windows illuminating its lofty interior space.
Lady Elizabeth de Botreaux commissioned the rebuilding of the church in 1423 to establish a college of seven chaplains while preserving the earlier tower.
The church contains bench ends from 1538 depicting medieval social life, including figures in period clothing and scenes of animals and local characters.
The building maintains regular services as part of the Camelot Parishes benefice within the Bruton and Cary deanery of Somerset.
The church stands as an exceptionally large structure for a village of under one thousand inhabitants, reflecting its intended role as a collegiate institution.
