Happy Valley Park spans 101 hectares of land featuring chalk grasslands, wooded slopes, and nature trails through diverse ecological zones.
The site became part of public green spaces in 1937 when Coulsdon and Purley Council acquired it under the Green Belt scheme.
The park functions as a central gathering location for local residents who engage in outdoor activities, sports, and community events throughout the year.
Visitors can access the park through Fox Lane from Coulsdon Road or reach it by taking bus number 60 from Coulsdon South train station.
The park contains Devilsden Wood, where rare plant species grow, including the man orchid and round-headed rampion in chalk grassland areas.
