King's Lynn Minster, Grade I listed church building in King's Lynn, England
King's Lynn Minster is a church building with two towers and large windows located on Saturday Market Place that displays both Norman and Gothic features. The stone structure shows layers of different building periods added over the centuries.
Herbert de Losinga, the first Bishop of Norwich, founded it in 1095 as a Benedictine priory dedicated to St Margaret. Over time it was rebuilt and adapted, reflecting its growing importance as a local center.
Inside, there are two of Britain's largest brass memorials honouring medieval mayors with intricate engravings that show the town's medieval importance. These artworks reflect the skill of craftspeople who created them centuries ago.
The building is open daily for visitors and provides restrooms along with level access throughout the main areas. Parking is available near Saturday Market Place, and the site is easily reached on foot.
A clock in the southwest tower dates from the 17th century and displays moon phases alongside the time. Sailors once used this information to navigate the tides of the Great Ouse river.
