Nothe Gardens, Public gardens at Nothe Peninsula, England
The gardens span 40,000 square meters and contain winding paths along grassy areas overlooking both Weymouth and Portland harbors from elevated positions.
The Nothe Fort within the gardens was constructed in 1872 to defend Portland Harbor, featuring four Vickers Armstrong anti-aircraft guns during World War II.
The Friends of Nothe Gardens, a local community group, maintains and promotes the gardens while preserving their natural character and wildlife habitats.
Visitors can access the gardens through Hope Square behind Weymouth Harbor, with both roadside parking and dedicated car park facilities available.
The gardens served as an official viewing area during the 2012 Olympic sailing events, accommodating 4,600 spectators daily throughout the competition.
