Palace Green, Historic green space between Durham Cathedral and Castle, England
Palace Green features a rectangular grass area surrounded by medieval buildings at the center of Durham University's historic district.
The land became part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, joining Durham Cathedral and Castle in recognition of its historical importance.

Access to Palace Green comes through two cobblestone streets, Owengate and Dun Cow Lane, with nearby university departments of law and theology.
A passage called Windy Gap leads from Palace Green toward River Wear, connecting the central area to the western banks.
