Rich Mix, Arts centre and cinema in Shoreditch, England
Description
Rich Mix is an arts center with three cinema screens and multiple performance spaces spread across five floors in Shoreditch. It hosts film screenings, theater productions, dance performances, music events, exhibitions, and workshops in its various rooms.
History
The building was originally a leather factory before being converted into an arts venue in the 2000s. This transformation helped establish East London as a hub for independent cultural activity.
Culture
The center displays works by local and international artists in its exhibition spaces and on stage throughout the year. You encounter here a welcoming environment where people from different backgrounds come together to create and share artistic projects.
Practical
The center is open most weekdays and weekends and is easily accessible by public transport. You can spend anywhere from a few hours to a whole day there depending on the program offerings.
Did you know?
Multiple smaller arts organizations share spaces in the building and collaborate on various projects. The cross-pollination of these groups creates a dynamic place where new ideas constantly emerge and creative exchange happens naturally.
