Morden Hall Park, Grade II listed park near River Wandle in Morden, England
Morden Hall Park is a Grade II listed park near the River Wandle with over 100 acres of meadows, wetlands, and woodland connected by bridges. The site includes a restored stable yard, visitor facilities, a garden centre, and a café.
The park originally belonged to Westminster Abbey before the Garth family built the manor house in 1770. The building served as a military hospital during World War I.
The restored stable yard houses workshops where local artisans work with visitors watching, alongside a second-hand bookshop and exhibition spaces showing regional crafts. These spaces reflect how the community uses the park to share and celebrate its creative heritage.
The park has accessible pathways, parking, restrooms, and rest areas for visitors. Some areas can flood seasonally and become slippery, so appropriate footwear helps during wet weather.
Two preserved snuff mills stand on the grounds with one waterwheel carefully restored to show how it once worked. The western mill now functions as an educational learning centre.
