Apollo Victoria Theatre, Art Deco theatre in Victoria, London.
The Apollo Victoria Theatre features a nautical-themed interior with chrome details, scallop shell decorations, and sculptured fountain columns reaching the ceiling.
Opening in 1930 as a cinema and variety theatre, the building remained operational during World War II despite closing temporarily from September 1940 to May 1941.
The venue transformed into a musical theatre in 1981, marking its new era with a Shirley Bassey concert before hosting productions including Starlight Express.
Located directly across from London Victoria Station, the theatre provides convenient access through multiple transportation connections in the Westminster district.
The interior underwent extensive modifications in 1984 to incorporate a racing track through the audience seating for performers on roller skates in Starlight Express.
