Apollo Victoria Theatre, Art Deco theatre in Victoria, London.
The Apollo Victoria Theatre is an Art Deco building with an interior featuring nautical themes, chrome details, and scallop shell decorations throughout. Sculptured fountain columns rise toward the ceiling and define the spatial composition of the main hall.
The building opened in 1930 as a cinema and variety theatre. It remained operational through World War II, although it closed temporarily between 1940 and 1941.
The venue served as a cinema and variety hall for decades before its transformation into a musical theatre space. This shift shaped how people experience the building today and the types of shows it hosts.
The theatre sits directly across from London Victoria Station, making it easy to reach by different transport options. The Westminster location means the area has good connections and plenty of nearby amenities to explore.
In the 1980s, the interior was dramatically modified to incorporate a roller skate racing track that ran through the audience seating. This bold transformation showed how far the venue would go to create something theatrical and unexpected.
