Stackpole Estate, Nature reserve in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Stackpole Estate is a nature reserve along the Pembrokeshire coast featuring limestone cliffs, sandy beaches, and woodlands. The property also includes three connected freshwater lakes near Bosherston that sit within the landscape.
The Cawdor family created the Bosherston Lakes by flooding valleys during the 18th and 19th centuries. This project transformed the land to enhance the estate's character.
The estate blends farming heritage with natural spaces through preserved farmland and traditional Welsh countryside practices. Visitors can observe how agricultural land and wild areas have coexisted here for generations.
The site is open between March and October with parking areas at Stackpole Quay, Bosherston, Broad Haven South, and Lodge Park Wood. These different entry points let visitors explore different sections based on their interests.
The reserve houses one of Britain's largest populations of greater horseshoe bats that roost in limestone cave systems. These rare bats use the site's natural caverns as shelter.
