St Matthew's Church, Northampton

St Matthew's Church is a Victorian-era building of red brick with ornate architectural details and a striking tower in Northampton. The interior contains numerous artworks and a four-manual pipe organ dating to 1895 that fills the space with sound during services.

The foundation stone was laid in 1891 on St Matthew's Day, with architect Matthew Holding overseeing the construction as a memorial to a local parliamentarian. A reformist vicar in the mid-20th century commissioned important artworks that transformed the building into a cultural hub.

The name honors the Apostle Matthew and remains central to the parish's identity and worship today. The space serves as an active gathering place where local people come together for services and community celebrations.
