Strawberry Studios

Strawberry Studios is a former recording studio on Waterloo Road in Stockport, England, which attracted musicians and sound engineers for decades. The building now houses a publishing company and a radio station, with the rooms inside no longer containing their original technical equipment.

The studio opened in 1968 as Inter-City Studios and later moved to Waterloo Road, where it took its new name from a Beatles song. The rooms served as a meeting point for rising and established bands from across Britain until the early nineties.

The studio walls captured recordings by bands that later shaped the sound of post-punk and Britpop. Today, a blue plaque on the building reminds passersby of this place's importance to the region's musical history.

The building stands on Waterloo Road in Stockport and is recognizable from outside by the commemorative plaque. Visitors interested in music history can pause during a walk through town to read the marker.

Neil Sedaka recorded his comeback albums here, backed by members of the band 10cc who also owned the studio at the time. This collaboration helped both parties gain new fans and secure success throughout the seventies.
