Millennium House

Millennium House is a building in Stockport with Greek Doric architectural style and four main levels, including basement and attic spaces. The structure contains office space now occupied by the UK Pension Service department.

The building began in 1792 as a medical dispensary serving the local community. Between 1871 and 1926 it underwent several expansions and later operated as an infirmary before its conversion to office use.

The building displays traditional brick and sandstone facades that reflect the architectural standards of its era. These materials were characteristic of important civic structures in the area during that period.

This is a heritage-listed building that maintains its original facade with careful attention to historic details. Access is limited as it functions as an active office building, so visitors can best appreciate it from the surrounding streets.

The building underwent a major overhaul in 2002 to completely modernize its interior spaces for contemporary office use. Despite these extensive internal changes, the historic exterior facade was carefully preserved and restored to maintain its original character.
