Founder's Building, Renaissance Revival university building in Egham, England

The red-brick Founder's Building features two large quadrangles, tall towers, and architectural details modeled after French chateaus of the Loire Valley.

Construction of the building started in 1874 and finished in 1881, with Queen Victoria attending the official opening ceremony in 1886.

The Picture Gallery inside the building displays a collection of 70 Victorian paintings, representing art from the period of its construction.

The building functions as a residence hall for over 550 students and contains a chapel, dining hall, lecture theater, and reading room.

The building appears in multiple television shows and films, including Downton Abbey and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
