The Garden Village, Kingston upon Hull, Model village neighborhood in Kingston upon Hull, England.

The Garden Village is a residential neighborhood in Hull featuring brick houses with steep roofs, wooden-framed windows, and pebble-dashed walls. Streets are lined with trees, and each property includes a small front garden and a larger back garden connected by narrow alleyways.

Development began in 1908 when Sir James Reckitt established a housing company to accommodate factory workers. A second phase of construction in the 1920s expanded the settlement and introduced a structured approach to naming streets.

This neighborhood was built to house factory workers in a planned community setting. Shared green spaces like The Oval and The Playground served as everyday meeting spots where residents gathered.

The neighborhood is easy to walk through, with regularly laid-out streets and sidewalks suitable for pedestrians. The narrow alleys between houses are publicly accessible, allowing visitors to explore the layout and architectural details up close.

The estate originally featured twelve different house styles across five different sizes, demonstrating thoughtful design planning. Street names were chosen after trees and shrubs, creating a coherent botanical theme throughout the neighborhood.
