Northgate Hall, Former Methodist chapel in central Oxford, England
The two-story Grecian Doric building features a basement level with schools and an upper floor that previously functioned as a chapel space.
Built between 1870 and 1871 on the site of old city walls, the construction required removal of a medieval bastion discovered during foundation work.
From 1933 to 1989, the building served as headquarters for Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union, influencing evangelical campus ministries worldwide.
Located at 18 St Michael's Street, the building now houses Oxford Presbyterian Church after receiving approval for renovation in November 2022.
This structure represents a return to religious use after periods as a community center, restaurant, and drop-in facility for homeless individuals.
