Northgate Hall, Former Methodist chapel in central Oxford, England

Northgate Hall is a two-story building with Grecian Doric architecture located on St Michael's Street in central Oxford. The basement housed school facilities while the upper floor served as a chapel space.

The building was constructed between 1870 and 1871 on the site of former city walls. During foundation work, a medieval bastion was discovered and removed from the location.

The building served as headquarters for Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union from 1933 to 1989, shaping evangelical campus movements globally. Its role in this network made it a gathering place for students across different faith backgrounds.

The building is located at 18 St Michael's Street in the city center and is accessible by public transport. Visitors should check opening times in advance, as these may vary depending on services and events held at the site.

The building experienced multiple transformations, serving at different times as a community center, restaurant, and drop-in facility for homeless individuals. This varied history shows how a single structure adapted to different community needs over the decades.
