30 Fenchurch Street, Modern office building in City of London, England
This 38-floor building at 30 Fenchurch Street features an extensive glass facade and provides modern office spaces along with communal gathering areas across its floors. A distinctive laser-cut screening marks the entrance and illuminates after dark.
Originally named Plantation Place, the structure was built in 2001 by Arup Associates as part of the evolving architectural landscape of London's financial district. A major renovation by John Robertson Architects under Brookfield Properties transformed it significantly in later years.
The building shapes the City of London's skyline with its distinctive glass exterior and modern design that draws attention from passersby and office workers. The laser-cut illuminated screening at street level creates a recognizable focal point in the dense business district.
The ground floor features updated lift lobbies, a reception area with cherry wood finishes, and a modern coffee shop serving the building's occupants and guests. Open floor layouts and extensive windows help visitors navigate easily and provide natural light throughout most levels.
Level 14 houses a penthouse floor with a landscaped roof terrace that provides occupants with a rare outdoor space amid the dense London financial district. This elevated retreat offers views and a marked contrast to the otherwise urban surroundings.
