Tilehurst Water Tower, Water tower in Tilehurst, England
The rectangular concrete structure rises prominently above the Tilehurst skyline, featuring two large water tanks that hold 900,000 liters of water.
Reading Borough Council constructed this infrastructure in 1932 to supplement the Bath Road Reservoir and supply water to properties at higher elevations.
The tower serves as a navigation reference point for local residents traveling along the M4 motorway, indicating their proximity to Reading.
Thames Water maintains this operational facility, which supplies approximately 10 percent of Reading's water needs, serving 12,000 homes and businesses.
The structure contains 169 steps leading to its summit, offering views extending to Didcot Power Station in one direction and Windsor Castle in another.
